Ihram Is Necessary For Performing Umrah

The sacred state, into which a Muslim should enter for the performance of Hajj or the Umrah, is well-known as the Ihram. Ihram is the state of ritual purity of the Muslim pilgrim. Before starting the Umrahpilgrimage, the Muslim stop at a designated site to perform particular rituals that station or place is well-known as the Meeqat for the pilgrim. For wearing the Ihram, cleanliness is highly recommended before putting on the garments of the Ihram. Clipping the nails from fingers of toe and hand, shave all the pubic hair, trim the moustache, comb beard and hair and take a proper Ghusl or at least the Wuzu (ablution). On the whole, the word Ihram used for the 3 meanings: firstly, the 2 piece of fabric worn by the Male Pilgrim, then the very act of beginning the Umrah, and lastly the state of dedication in which the pilgrims are during the performance of Umrah. And in real, after putting on the Ihram, the Muslim wear Ihram by making the intention (niyyat) of Ihram and now the pilgrim enter into the sacred state of Ihram.

For men, garments of Ihram comprises on the 2 white coloured sheets of cloth. One sheet is to be wrapped round the upper portion of the body and the other sheet to cover from naval to the legs. The lower piece of Ihram can be fixed with some belt. While for women, the regular loose fitting garments that covers all of her whole body except the face is the Ihram. It is tradition for women to wear black or white cloak, but there is no restriction for it to wear these 2 colour cloak, female pilgrims can wear any colour cloak. There is not any kind restriction for the footwear for women, but, the men must not cover the ankles, toes and the upper bone of foot. For wearing the Ihram, cleanliness is extremely recommended before putting on the garments of the Ihram.

There are some prohibitions, for and during the Ihram. Once the pilgrim enters into the state of Ihram, from then, until they complete their Umrah, they are supposed to abandon particular things. The clipping nails and shaving hairs from any part of body, using perfume in any way, speaking immoral words, wish to touch spouse, contracting marriage, hunting and eating from game meat, male are restricted from covering their head or wearing sewn garments to fit the limbs of the body and the females are restricted to wear Naqaab and the gloves during the Ihram. The pilgrim must exert to advantage the Muslims and treat them kindly by guiding; helping when needed, and being kind towards the weak, such as in thronged places.
