MUSLIMS IN THE SCIENTIFIC WORLD

The general notion about Muslims in this age and day is not any good. The West has already labelled them as the extremists, and a steady danger to the safety of the whole world population according to current propaganda. This sweeping statement has got no roots, as actions and activities done by a small group of people must not be taken as the way of life of the entire religion. If it was so, then Christians are the most unpleasant creatures, as they were those who started 2 World Wars and killed millions of Jews, wiped out 2 Japanese cities with bombs, kept Africans as slaves and there are so many other examples like that. But Christianity was never ever called brutal, though; small proportions of so called Muslims who frighten innocents are easily taken as a reason to tag Islam as the mean faith. Nowadays, the West is so proud and arrogant of their scientific and technical inventions forgetting the truth that when they were lying in darkness that was the Middle Ages, they were Muslims who had by now laid the foundations and basis for all the present technological advancements. But where did they take the inspiration and motivation from” This is the question that comes to one’s mind as Holy Quran is considered unrelated to science by the view of many opponents of Islam. Well in actual, the Holy Quran and Science go hand in hand: there are several Ayahs (verses) that call the disciples to studying the overall world, and many natural phenomena on globe in order to understand the creations of the ALLAH Almighty better. Verse 2:164 of Holy Quran

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what ALLAH has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.

ALLAH Almighty urges His believers to believe with reasoning in the above mentioned Quranic lines, and there are so many other such verses (ayats) which teaches us to do so. The early or previous Muslim took their brainwaves through the teachings of Islam that led them to embark on numerous life transforming inventions and discoveries when they reflected on their surroundings, environments and acted wisely. There are many Muslim inventions and discoveries that were either initially made or proved as the stepping stones for modern expansion and inventions of scientific knowledge, like, robotics, chess, earth being round in shape, irrigation, crank shaft, work in architecture, checks, windmill, carpets, gardening, mariner’s compass pendulum, and many more
