{"id":2119,"date":"2023-12-21T14:28:43","date_gmt":"2023-12-21T14:28:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.makkahtour.co.uk\/blogger\/?p=2119"},"modified":"2024-02-12T14:03:46","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T14:03:46","slug":"historical-sites-in-madinah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.makkahtour.co.uk\/blogs\/historical-sites-in-madinah\/","title":{"rendered":"Historical Sites in Madinah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apart from Masjid-e-Nabwi there are many other historical and sacred places to visit in Madinah.<\/p>\n<p><b>Masjid\u00a0<i>Al-Qiblatain<\/i>:<br \/>\n<\/b>Prophet (Saww) was praying His zuhr prayer while in the middle of his prayer he received a revelation to change the direction (Qibla) from\u00a0<i>Bait-ul-Maqdas<\/i>\u00a0in Jerusalem to\u00a0<i>Baitullah<\/i>\u00a0in Makkah.\u00a0 So he turned his face in the middle of the prayer and the\u00a0<i>salah<\/i>\u00a0was offered between two directions therefore it is named as\u00a0<i>Qiblatain<\/i> (two directions).<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Masjid\u00a0<i>Al-Quba<\/i>:<\/p>\n<p>The mosque is located about three kilometers south of Madinah and is known to be the first mosque in the history of Islam.\u00a0 Prophet Saww led the foundation stone of this mosque. This is the first mosque where Prophet (Saww) led the prayer with Sahaba (R.A). According to one Hadith \u201cOffering two rakaat in this mosque is equal to one Umrah in Makkah\u201d.<br \/>\n<b><i><br \/>\nUhud<\/i><\/b><b>\u00a0Mountain:<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nIt is located in the South of Madinah at a distance of five kilometers from Masjid e Nabwi. The significance of this mountain is mentioned in one of the Hadith \u201cthis is a mountain who loves us and we love them\u201d.\u00a0The famous battle of\u00a0<i>Uhud<\/i> took place in this area in which Prophet\u2019s uncle Hazrat Hamza (R.A) and many of His companions were martyred. Prophet (Saww) himself was wounded with an arrow and lost four of his teeth. There is also a graveyard in the middle of this mountain<\/p>\n<p>Jannat-ul-Baqe<b>\u00a0(Al-Baqi cemeter<\/b>y):<\/p>\n<p>This graveyard is situated near to the Masjid e Nabwi. More than ten thousand Sahaba (R.A) are buried here.\u00a0 Prophet (Saww) wives and other family members are also buried here. Most of the times visitors are not allowed to enter inside perhaps because of the respect so people make\u00a0<i>dua<\/i>\u00a0from outside.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nMasjid\u00a0<i>Al-Ghamama<\/i>:<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nThis mosque is situated in the South-west corner of Masjid e Nabwi at a distance of half kilometer from\u00a0<i>Bab-ul-Salam<\/i>. It is located in that ground which Prophet (Saww) chose for the Eid prayer. According to one tradition this Masjid is known as\u00a0<i>Ghamama<\/i>\u00a0because a cloud was covering Prophet (Saww) during his prayer.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nMasjid Al-<i>Fatah<\/i>\u00a0(Victory):<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nIt is situated in the South of Madinah in the mount \u2018Sal\u2019aa\u2019. It is known as Masjid Fatah because Allah revealed upon Prophet (Saww) about victory of Muslims during \u2018battle of trench\u2019. Prophet (Saww) told Sahaba (R.A) \u201cBe happy on the victory granted upon you by Allah\u201d.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nMasjid\u00a0<i>BaniHaritha<\/i>:<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nOn his way back from the battle of Uhud Prophet Saww rested for few hours at this place. Therefore it is also known as Masjid e S<i>utrah.\u00a0<\/i>The mosque was built during the time of Prophet Saww.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nMasjid\u00a0<i>Al-Jumma<\/i>:<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nThis is known as Masjid Jummah because Prophet (Saww) prayed his first Friday congregational after he left the Quba village for Madinah. Sahaba Karam (R.A) built a mosque at this place.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nMasjid Al-<i>Ijaba<\/i>(Supplication response):<br \/>\n<\/b><br \/>\nThe mosque is located on the north eastern side of Masjid e Nabwi. Prophet (Saww) made three\u00a0<i>duas<\/i>at this place.
