When one is going for Umrah people only think of performing Umrah and offering Salah and Nawafil. Other than that people usually do not know what else they can do. But when you are going to the holy land, you can also pay a visit to the places where the Prophet (PBUH) and his family spent a lot of time. Some of them are mentioned here: 

Mina

This is a place where Hajj pilgrims stay overnight on 8th, 11th, 12th, and some people stay on the 13th of Zil Hajj. It is seven kilometers in the east of the Mosque- Al-HaramIt; it also contains the three stone pillars which are pelted by pilgrims as part of the rituals of Hajj called the Jamarat. If we read the history of this place before going there, you will feel more blessed to know that you are there. The place Mina is referenced in Surah Baqarah in the Quran: “And remember Allah during [specific] numbered days. Then whoever hastens [his departure] in two days – there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays [until the third] – there is no sin upon him – for him who fears Allah. And fear Allah and know that unto Him you will be gathered. 

Arfat

Standing at Arafat is the fundamental requirement of Hajj and pilgrims come here on the 9th Zil Hajj (second day of Hajj) because, if one missed standing at Arfat, he would miss the Hajj because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: “Hajj is Arafat.” [Al-Hakim]

Birth Place of Holly prophet (P.B.U.H)

Nowadays, in the birthplace of the Holly Prophet (Peace be upon him) there is a library in She’eb Banu Hashim in Mecca. You can visit this place by going with Umrah Packages 2024.This is Place Where the Holly Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was born on12 Rabi UL Awal. His ancestry can be traced back to the Prophet Ibrahim (upon him be peace). Visiting this place is a blessing for us. 

House of Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him)

The house of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was situated in Makah. This was the place from where Hijrah to Madina commenced. It is in the Makah Towers Hotel block, where a Mosque (Mosque Abu Bakr) has been built on the 4th floor. Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was a very close friend of the Holly Prophet (P.B.U.H) and He (P.B.U.H) once said that “Nobody’s wealth has benefited me so much as that of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). I have compensated everybody for the good done to me, except Abu Bakr. He shall be compensated by Allah Himself.”

When you go for Umrah you must pay a visit to all these places. 

Mount Abu Qubays

The Large Mountain Abu Qubaysis adjacent to Safa Mountain. It is stated in history that the Holy prophet (P.B.U.H) pointed the moon and split it into half from the top of this mountain. This happened when the Kuffar of Arab were asking for a miracle.

Valley of Abi Talib

When the people of Makkah Boycotted Banu Hashim and Banu Abdul Mutalib all Muslims and noon Muslims for three years, they were forced to stay in Shab-e-abi talib. 

Mosque Raeyyah

The time when the Holy prophet (P.B.U.H) conquered Makkah, He (P.B.U.H) planted his Flag. On that spot (Mosque of the flag) is located. This Mosque is also known as Mosque Jowdariyah.

Jahiliyyah cemetery

This area is located in a district southwest of the Haram. This is where, before the advent of Islam some of the Arabs used to bury their daughters alive as they believed that they were the sign of disgrace for them. It is also believed that Sumayah (may Allah be pleased with her) is buried here; she was the first person to be martyred in the cause of Islam.

Every Muslim wants to visit these places, so when you make a plan of Hajj and Umrah do make sure visiting them.
Conclusion: There are a number of places one can visit during Umrah. Make a list of the places where you would like to go and then arrange the trip accordingly with your guide. You would see history roll in front of your eyes.
