Apart from Masjid-e-Nabwi there are many other historical and sacred places to visit in Madinah.

Masjid Al-Qiblatain:
Prophet (Saww) was praying His zuhr prayer while in the middle of his prayer he received a revelation to change the direction (Qibla) from Bait-ul-Maqdas in Jerusalem to Baitullah in Makkah.  So he turned his face in the middle of the prayer and the salah was offered between two directions therefore it is named as Qiblatain (two directions).

Masjid Al-Quba:

The mosque is located about three kilometers south of Madinah and is known to be the first mosque in the history of Islam.  Prophet Saww led the foundation stone of this mosque. This is the first mosque where Prophet (Saww) led the prayer with Sahaba (R.A). According to one Hadith “Offering two rakaat in this mosque is equal to one Umrah in Makkah”.

Uhud
 Mountain:

It is located in the South of Madinah at a distance of five kilometers from Masjid e Nabwi. The significance of this mountain is mentioned in one of the Hadith “this is a mountain who loves us and we love them”. The famous battle of Uhud took place in this area in which Prophet’s uncle Hazrat Hamza (R.A) and many of His companions were martyred. Prophet (Saww) himself was wounded with an arrow and lost four of his teeth. There is also a graveyard in the middle of this mountain

Jannat-ul-Baqe (Al-Baqi cemetery):

This graveyard is situated near to the Masjid e Nabwi. More than ten thousand Sahaba (R.A) are buried here.  Prophet (Saww) wives and other family members are also buried here. Most of the times visitors are not allowed to enter inside perhaps because of the respect so people make dua from outside.

Masjid Al-Ghamama:

This mosque is situated in the South-west corner of Masjid e Nabwi at a distance of half kilometer from Bab-ul-Salam. It is located in that ground which Prophet (Saww) chose for the Eid prayer. According to one tradition this Masjid is known as Ghamama because a cloud was covering Prophet (Saww) during his prayer.

Masjid Al-Fatah (Victory):

It is situated in the South of Madinah in the mount ‘Sal’aa’. It is known as Masjid Fatah because Allah revealed upon Prophet (Saww) about victory of Muslims during ‘battle of trench’. Prophet (Saww) told Sahaba (R.A) “Be happy on the victory granted upon you by Allah”.

Masjid BaniHaritha:

On his way back from the battle of Uhud Prophet Saww rested for few hours at this place. Therefore it is also known as Masjid e Sutrah. The mosque was built during the time of Prophet Saww.

Masjid Al-Jumma:

This is known as Masjid Jummah because Prophet (Saww) prayed his first Friday congregational after he left the Quba village for Madinah. Sahaba Karam (R.A) built a mosque at this place.

Masjid Al-Ijaba(Supplication response):

The mosque is located on the north eastern side of Masjid e Nabwi. Prophet (Saww) made three duasat this place. Out of three only two were Maqbool (accepted) and one was not accepted.
