Why choose Ramadan Umrah packages?

There is no month like Ramadan in Makkah and Madinah. You fast at home, but you keep it within sight of the Kaaba, among people from every country, all waiting for the same call to Maghrib. Umrah performed in Ramadan carries the reward of Hajj, recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, though it does not discharge the obligation of Hajj for anyone able to perform it. Many pilgrims plan the trip for years.

Ramadan Umrah packages 2027: what shapes the price and the trip

A Ramadan Umrah package bundles four things that are awkward to arrange separately in peak season: the flight, the hotels in both cities, the ground transport and the visa route. You book them together at one price. During Ramadan, that matters more than in any other month, because hotel rooms close to the mosques are booked early and the flight seats on the popular dates go with them.

Four things move both the price and the experience, and it helps to separate them before you compare anything.

• The part of Ramadan you travel in: This affects price and availability more than the hotel star rating does.
• How long you stay: Seven nights suits a first Umrah. Ten and fourteen nights give you room to settle in and, timed right, to reach the final nights.
• How close to the mosque you want to be: In Ramadan you make that walk several times a day, so distance is a practical question rather than a luxury one.
• How many of you share a room: Our starting prices are quoted on four sharing, and the per-person figure changes as that number falls.

Ramadan 2027 dates and what they mean for your departure

Ramadan 1448H is expected to begin on or around Monday 8 February 2027 and to end on or around 8 or 9 March, with Eid al-Fitr around 9 or 10 March. All of these dates depend on the official moon sighting. If the start moves by a day, every date below moves with it.

That fourth row is the detail most people miss, and it changes which flight you book. To be in Makkah for the twenty-first night you need to be there before sunset on 27 February, and a flight landing late that evening has already missed it. Because Ramadan 2027 runs from February into early March, our February Umrah packages and March Umrah packages cover departures either side of the month too.

Choose your Ramadan travel period

The three ten-day periods of Ramadan are known as the Ashra. Each is a different trip in practice, not only in meaning, and the differences show up in price, crowd levels and how far ahead you need to commit.

First Ashra Umrah packages, 8 to 17 February 2027

The first ten days are the calmest stretch of Ramadan in both cities. The Haram is full but moving, tawaf is manageable at more hours of the day, and hotels committed months ahead for the final nights are still open, so prices sit at the lower end of the Ramadan range. It is the window we most often recommend for a first Umrah, for families travelling with young children, and for older relatives where crowd levels and walking distance are the real constraints. You still fast in Makkah and pray Taraweeh at Masjid al-Haram, with more room. Families booking a first Umrah together often choose these dates for exactly that reason: there is space to stand and look at the Kaaba for the first time without being moved along.

Second Ashra Umrah packages, 18 to 27 February 2027

The middle ten days are the natural compromise. Crowds build steadily but do not reach the intensity of the final nights, and prices sit between the two. There is also a UK reason to consider this window in 2027. February half-term for most English schools falls in the week beginning Monday 15 February, inside Ramadan and running into the second Ashra, so families with school-age children may not need to take them out of school. Half-term dates vary by local authority and differ in Scotland and Northern Ireland, so check yours before fixing dates.

Last Ashra Umrah packages and the last 10 nights, 28 February to 8 or 9 March 2027

Demand peaks in the final ten days: prices are highest and the hotels nearest Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi go first. Our last 10 days Ramadan Umrah packages open on the evening of 27 February, because the Islamic day starts at Maghrib. Laylatul Qadr is sought on the odd nights: the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th. Taraweeh can mean arriving hours early, so book early and land before sunset on the 27th.

Full month Ramadan Umrah packages

A full-month stay covers roughly thirty nights, from the start of Ramadan through to Eid. It suits pilgrims intending I'tikaf in the final ten days, and travellers whose work allows a long absence. The practical questions change on a stay this length: laundry, meals across four weeks, how your nights are split between Makkah and Madinah, and the validity window on your entry permission. We plan those with you rather than selling a fixed shape.

Staying through Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr is expected around 9 or 10 March 2027. Spending it in Makkah or Madinah means staying past the end of Ramadan, so the constraint is the return flight rather than the outbound one. Seats after Eid are in demand from pilgrims across the world leaving at the same time. Bear in mind too that the Umrah season begins closing for Hajj from around mid-April, so an extended stay has an outer limit.

Ramadan Umrah packages by duration

Our Ramadan packages run for 7, 10 or 14 nights, split between Makkah and Madinah, with longer stays arranged on request.

7-night Ramadan Packages

Typically four nights in Makkah and three in Madinah. This is the shortest trip that still gives you time in both cities without feeling rushed, and it is the usual choice for a first Umrah, for anyone on limited annual leave, and for travellers who want to be inside Ramadan without committing a fortnight. It works well in the first Ashra. It is a tight fit if you want to cover the full run of odd nights. Compare the 3-star 7-night package, the 4-star 7-night package and the 5-star 7-night package.

10-night Ramadan Packages

Usually five nights in each city. Ten nights is the length that makes the final ten workable, because you can arrive before the twenty-first night and stay through to the end of the month. 14-night Ramadan Packages

Usually seven nights in each city. A fortnight gives you time to settle into a rhythm rather than chasing one, and it lets you combine two parts of Ramadan. Arriving in the middle of the month and staying through to the final nights is a pattern we arrange often. Longer stays and the full month

Ramadan Umrah packages by hotel category

All three tiers include the same return flights, airport and intercity transfers and Nusuk visa support. What changes is the standard of the hotel and how far you walk to Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi.

3-star Ramadan Umrah packages from £795pp

Practical, well-placed hotels for pilgrims, keeping the overall cost manageable: students, solo travellers, first-time pilgrims and larger families sharing. You get the same flights, transfers and visa support as every other tier. What changes is the standard of the room and, usually, a longer walk or a shuttle ride to the mosque. Our 3-star 7-night Ramadan package and 3-star 10-night Ramadan package are the two most booked at this tier.

4-star Ramadan Umrah packages from £845pp

The middle tier, and the one most couples and small families choose. Rooms are more comfortable, and the properties generally sit closer to the mosques than the 3-star options, without the premium of the closest addresses.

5-star Ramadan Umrah packages from £930pp

For pilgrims who want the shortest possible walk and the highest hotel category. In Makkah, that means properties within a few minutes of Masjid al-Haram. In Madinah, it means addresses effectively on the doorstep of Masjid an-Nabawi. Selected packages at this level include private transfers, and guided ziyarah can be arranged separately.

Where you will stay in Makkah and Madinah

In Ramadan, hotel location shapes your day. You make the walk to the mosque several times between Fajr and Taraweeh, often after a day of fasting, and a fifteen-minute walk done six times is a different proposition from the same walk in an ordinary month. Star rating matters. Distance usually matters more.

Makkah distances below are measured to Masjid al-Haram. Madinah distances are measured to Masjid an-Nabawi, the Prophet's Mosque. All distances are approximate, and final hotel allocation is confirmed when you book.

Where a hotel sits further out, a shuttle runs to and from the Haram so you are not spending your energy on the walk. Ramadan Umrah package prices: how your quote is built

Our published prices are starting prices: per person, from the lowest available option in each tier, based on four sharing, and subject to travel dates, hotel availability and flight availability when you book.

Four things move your quote away from the starting price, and it is worth knowing which is which before you compare us against anyone else.

1. The part of Ramadan you travel in: The last ten nights price highest and the first Ashra lowest, because that is how demand for rooms and seats is distributed across the month.
2. Room occupancy: Explained below, and the most common reason a quote differs from a headline price.
3. Hotel tier and the specific property allocated.
4. How early you book: Ramadan fares and room rates firm up as the month approaches, and the closest hotels are committed first.

How room occupancy changes your per-person price

Almost every advertised Umrah price is a sharing rate. Ours are quoted on four sharing, and the per-person price rises as that number falls:

• A quad room, four sharing, is the basis of our from-prices
• A triple costs more per person than a quad
• A twin or double costs more per person than a triple
• A single room carries a supplement

Tell us your party size and room preference, and we will quote on that basis.

Deposits and paying in stages

A deposit secures your booking, and the balance is payable before travel. Our team will confirm the deposit amount and the payment schedule for your specific package when you enquire, along with the amendment and cancellation terms that apply. Those terms are set out in full in our booking conditions.

Flights from the UK

Every package includes return flights from the UK. Direct flights to Jeddah (King Abdulaziz International Airport, JED) run from Heathrow (LHR), Manchester (MAN) and Birmingham (BHX), flown by Saudia. All other UK airports and arrivals into Madinah (Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, MED), connect. Your arrival city decides where you enter Ihram. Baggage allowance is set by the airline and confirmed at booking.

Times are approximate and change with the carrier, the routing and how long your connection is. We confirm the actual timings for your flights when we quote.

Umrah visa, Nusuk permits and vaccination

This is the part of Ramadan Umrah that catches most people out, so it is worth being precise about who does what. Some of it we arrange. Some of it only you can do, from your own phone, using the Nusuk app.

Where you enter Ihram when travelling from the UK

Ihram is the state of consecration you must be in before crossing the Miqat, the boundary fixed for pilgrims approaching Makkah. On a UK to Jeddah flight you cross the Miqat in the air, so most pilgrims change into the Ihram garments at their departure airport or during a stopover, and make the intention when the crew announce the Miqat is near.

If your package begins in Madinah, you travel on to Makkah by road and enter Ihram at Dhul Hulayfah, also called Abyar Ali, the Miqat just outside the city. Many pilgrims find this the easier of the two, because you change on the ground in your own time rather than in an aircraft cabin.

If you intend a second Umrah during your stay, Masjid Aisha at Taneem is the nearest Miqat to Makkah. During Ramadan, going out to Taneem is usually done late at night when the roads are clearer.

Suhoor, Iftar and meals during your stay

Meals are not included unless stated for your hotel. Some properties run Iftar and Suhoor service during Ramadan, and where that applies to a hotel you are considering, we will tell you before you book rather than leaving you to find out on arrival. Given the rhythm above, a hotel that serves on the fasting schedule is worth asking about, and we can check what your shortlist offers. When to book

Book as early as you can, earlier for the final ten nights. Hotels closest to Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi fill up first, then popular flight times and the last Ashra dates. Early booking secures your choice of hotel, departure city and flight time.

Travelling with children

Two things matter with children: a hotel close enough to take a tired child back, and a room configuration that fits. Tell us everyone's ages when you enquire. The first Ashra and second Ashra suit young children better than the final nights.

Travelling with elderly relatives

Older travellers ask about the walk more than the hotel, so distance matters more than star rating. Where walking is not realistic, ask about shuttle availability. Tell us about wheelchair or airport assistance, and we will arrange it with the airline.

First-time pilgrims

On a first Umrah, the first ten days are the gentlest introduction, with room to perform tawaf and sa'i at the Haram before the crowds build. Ask anything, including the questions people feel silly asking.
