September Umrah Packages 2026 from the UK

Planning Umrah in September 2026? Our September Umrah packages 2026 bring your return flights, hotels in Makkah and Madinah, airport and intercity transfers, and Nusuk visa support together in a single booking, with 3, 4 and 5-star options with flexible 7, 10 and 14-night stays starting from approx. £930 per person. You can reserve your place with a deposit of just £49 per person and pay the balance before you travel.

September is one of the calmer, better-value windows in the Umrah calendar. The Hajj season has ended, the summer school-holiday rush has settled, and the fiercest peak-summer heat starts to ease. For pilgrims travelling from the UK, that usually means wider hotel availability near the Haram, steadier flight prices, and a quieter, more focused few days around the two holy mosques.

Why perform Umrah in September?

September suits pilgrims who want milder weather than high summer, fewer crowds around the Haram, and better value on flights and hotels than peak periods like Ramadan and the school holidays.

Cooler than the peak of summer

September is still warm. Daytime temperatures in Makkah and Madinah often sit in the high 30s to low 40s°C, but it's past the fiercest heat of July and August, and the evenings are more comfortable for prayers and ziyarat. If summer Umrah felt daunting, September is a gentler middle ground. Stay hydrated, plan the longer walks for early morning or after sunset, and you'll find the rites much more manageable.

Fewer crowds around the two mosques

With Hajj over and families back at work and school, the holy sites are noticeably quieter than during Ramadan or the summer break. Tawaf and Sa'i are easier to perform at a calm pace, and you'll often find more room in the prayer halls and shorter waits at the hotels and transport.

Better value on flights and hotels

Demand softens after the summer peak, so flight fares and hotel rates in September are usually lower than in the busiest months. That extra value is why many pilgrims choose to travel now rather than wait for Ramadan, when both prices and crowds climb.

Good timing for families, students and working people

September falls right after the long summer break, which makes it a practical window for families settling back into routine, students with lighter early-term schedules, and anyone who wants to travel before the winter and Ramadan rush. A shorter 7-night package can fit around work and school without using much annual leave.

How September compares with other Umrah months

Ramadan, which in 2027 begins around 8 February, is the most spiritually rewarding time to perform Umrah, but also the busiest and most expensive. The October half-term and December breaks are popular with families but carry peak-season prices. September sits in a quieter, better-value spot just after the summer rush, with warm but easing weather. If your dates are flexible, it's one of the calmer windows in the year. For other times of year, see our monthly Umrah pages.

Our 3, 4 and 5-star September Umrah packages

The choice is simple: three service tiers, each available over 7, 10 or 14 nights, with the time split between Makkah and Madinah to suit how long you want in each city.

Package

What to expect

From (per person)

3-star September Umrah

Clean, comfortable hotels a short walk or shuttle ride from the Haram; the most budget-friendly choice.

approx. £930pp

4-star September Umrah

Mid-range hotels, usually closer to the mosques, with more space and services.

approx. £983pp

5-star September Umrah

Premium hotels, many within approx. walking distance of the Haram, for extra comfort.

approx. £1,225pp

Prices are per person based on sharing and vary with your dates, duration and chosen hotels. Confirm live rates on the package cards above the fold.

3-star September Umrah packages

Our 3-star packages are the most budget-friendly way to travel. You'll stay in clean, well-run hotels a short walk or shuttle ride from the Haram, with the essentials taken care of. They're popular with first-time pilgrims, students, and larger groups sharing rooms to keep the per-person cost down. In Makkah you'll usually be within approx. 800 m to 2 km of Masjid al-Haram, with transport provided where there's a longer walk. In Madinah, you'll be within approx. 500 m to 1.5 km of Masjid an-Nabawi.

4-star September Umrah packages

Our 4-star packages sit in the middle: more comfortable hotels, usually closer to the mosques, with a little more space and better on-site services. This is the tier many families and older pilgrims choose, because a shorter walk to the Haram makes the daily routine easier. Expect hotels within approx. 300 to 800 m of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, and approx. 250 to 600 m of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.

5-star September Umrah packages

Our 5-star packages are for pilgrims who want to be as close to the Haram as possible, in premium hotels with full facilities. Many are within approx. walking distance of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi, so you can return to your room easily between prayers. In Makkah this often means hotels around the clock-tower complex; in Madinah, hotels facing or moments from the Prophet's Mosque.

What's included in your September Umrah package

Every September Umrah package from Makkah Tour is built around the essentials, so you can focus on your worship rather than the logistics. A standard package includes:

  • Return flights from your chosen UK airport to Saudi Arabia
  • Hotels in Makkah and Madinah for your selected star tier and number of nights
  • Airport transfers in Saudi Arabia and intercity travel between Makkah and Madinah
  • Nusuk visa support (your Umrah visa is issued through the Saudi government's Nusuk platform)
  • 24/7 UK-based support throughout your trip

What's not included

We're upfront about what sits outside the package so there are no surprises. Unless your quote states otherwise, the following are arranged separately:

  • Your MenACWY (meningitis) vaccination, which is mandatory for Umrah
  • Travel insurance
  • Meals, except where a package specifies them
  • Optional guided ziyarat tours and any personal spending

Reserve with a £49 deposit and spread the cost

You can book now and pay later. Secure your September Umrah package with a deposit of just £49 per person, then settle the remaining balance before you travel.

A small deposit lets you lock in your dates, hotel tier and departure city early. That matters most in September, when the better-value hotels near the Haram fill up first. It also lets you budget over time rather than paying everything at once. When you book, our team confirms your balance and the date it's due, so you always know where you stand. Reserving early also gives you the widest choice of flights and room types before the popular dates sell out.

Room options: single, double, triple and quad sharing

Most prices are per person based on sharing, and you can choose single, double, triple or quad occupancy to match your group and your budget.

Families and groups often pick triple or quad rooms to keep the per-person cost down, while couples usually take a double. If you'd prefer a room to yourself, a single room is available and normally carries a supplement, because you're not sharing the cost. Larger families can book adjoining or connecting rooms where the hotel offers them. Tell us how your group is travelling and we'll price the room set-up that suits you.

Flights from the UK for your September Umrah

UK departure airports

We arrange September Umrah departures from airports across the UK, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow and Belfast, among others. If your nearest airport isn't a direct-route hub, we'll route you via a convenient connection so you can still travel from close to home.

Airlines we commonly use

Depending on your route and dates, your flights may be with carriers such as Saudia, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, Gulf Air or British Airways. We match the airline and routing to your departure city, budget and preferred journey time, and we'll always tell you who you're flying with before you confirm.

Direct flights to Jeddah, and getting to Madinah

Direct flights to Jeddah are available from Heathrow Airport, Manchester Airport and Birmingham Airport on selected dates, landing at King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED), the main gateway for pilgrims heading to Makkah and Masjid al-Haram. From other UK airports, you'll usually reach Jeddah via a connection. There's no direct flight from the UK to Madinah, so Madinah routings arrive via a connecting flight into Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (MED), approx. 20 km from Masjid an-Nabawi. We'll plan a convenient routing for your trip, whether you fly into Jeddah or Madinah.

September Umrah packages from your city

Wherever you're travelling from, we can arrange your September Umrah with departure details tailored to your local airport. For city-specific routes, fares and advice, see our dedicated pages:

Makkah and Madinah hotels

Your hotels are chosen for the standard you book and for their proximity to the two holy mosques. As a general guide to how close each tier tends to be:

Tier

Makkah (approx. from Masjid al-Haram)

Madinah (approx. from Masjid an-Nabawi)

5-star

approx. 0 to 300 m; many within walking distance

approx. 100 to 250 m

4-star

approx. 300 to 800 m, or a short shuttle ride

approx. 250 to 600 m

3-star

approx. 800 m to 2 km, with transport provided

approx. 500 m to 1.5 km

Distances are approximate and given as tier guidance. Verify the exact hotel and its approx. distance against your current September contracts before publishing. Hotels and distances change season to season.

At the premium end, Makkah options include hotels such as the Pullman ZamZam and Hilton Suites near the clock-tower complex, while in Madinah pilgrims often stay at hotels such as the Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick or Dar Al Taqwa, close to Masjid an-Nabawi. Mid-range and budget tiers use comfortable hotels a little further out, with transport provided for the longer walks. Whatever your tier, we'll tell you the specific hotel and its approx. distance from the Haram before you confirm.

Can I choose my hotel?

Yes. If you have a hotel in mind, or a preferred distance from the Haram, let us know and we'll aim to secure it, subject to availability for your dates. If you'd rather we recommend, we'll suggest a good-value option for your tier and travel group.

Visa and Nusuk guidance for UK pilgrims

UK passport holders need a visa to perform Umrah. The Umrah visa is issued through the Saudi government's Nusuk platform, which is also where your accommodation is registered.

Nusuk is the official Saudi system for Umrah, so booking with an operator who works within it keeps everything in order. We provide Nusuk support and guidance as part of your package: we help you understand what's required, prepare your details correctly, and make sure your accommodation is registered for your trip.

Depending on your passport and plans, you may travel on a dedicated Umrah visa or perform Umrah on a Saudi tourist eVisa. From 1 July 2026, Saudi Arabia's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) replaces the previous entry-permit route for eligible travellers. Eligibility differs by passport, so we'll confirm the correct route for you. Entry rules can change, so we always point you to the official Saudi sources to check before you travel.

Vaccinations and entry requirements for Saudi Arabia

A meningococcal MenACWY (meningitis ACWY) vaccination is required for all Umrah pilgrims, and it must be given at least 10 days before you arrive in Saudi Arabia.

You'll be issued a vaccination certificate to carry with you. Your GP or a travel clinic can administer MenACWY, and they may also advise on other routine or seasonal vaccinations depending on your health and history. Beyond the vaccination, make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of travel, and keep your return ticket and accommodation details to hand. Requirements can be updated, so check the latest official guidance before you travel, and we'll flag anything relevant to your dates when you book.

Airport & Intercity Transport Between Makkah and Madinah

From the moment you arrive in Saudi Arabia, your transport arrangements are taken care of. Our September Umrah packages include organised airport transfers, helping you travel smoothly from the airport to your hotel in Makkah or Madinah without the stress of arranging taxis after a long journey.

For pilgrims visiting both holy cities, we arrange comfortable intercity transfers between Makkah and Madinah. Depending on your itinerary and group requirements, your journey may be arranged by private transport or other suitable travel options. Our team ensures your travel plans are clear before departure, so you can focus on your worship and enjoy a peaceful Umrah experience.

A quick guide to performing Umrah

Umrah can be performed at any time of year, including September, and consists of a few core rites. You enter the state of ihram and make your intention before reaching the miqat, reciting the talbiyah. You perform tawaf, circling the Kaaba seven times, and sa'i, walking seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah. You then complete your Umrah with halq or taqsir (shaving or trimming the hair). Our team can talk you through each step, and guided support is available if it's your first time.

Ziyarat: visiting the sacred sites

Beyond your Umrah rites, September's calmer pace is ideal for ziyarat, visiting the places of Islamic significance in and around the two cities. Optional guided tours can be added to your package.

Ziyarat in and around Makkah

Pilgrims often visit Jabal al-Nour and the Cave of Hira, where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the first revelation; Jabal Thawr, the cave that sheltered the Prophet and Abu Bakr during the migration; and the plains of Arafat, Mina and Muzdalifah, which are central to the Hajj rites and moving to see.

Ziyarat in and around Madinah

In Madinah, popular sites include Masjid Quba, the first mosque built in Islam; Masjid al-Qiblatayn, where the direction of prayer was changed; Mount Uhud and the resting place of its martyrs; Jannat al-Baqi, the historic cemetery beside Masjid an-Nabawi; and the Seven Mosques. Tell us if ziyarat matters to you and we'll build time for it into your schedule.

Who are our September Umrah packages for?

Families

September works well for families travelling together after the summer break. We can arrange connecting, triple or quad rooms, hotels a short distance from the Haram, and a pace that suits younger and older travellers alike. A 7 or 10-night package often fits neatly around the early school term.

Elderly pilgrims

For older pilgrims, we focus on hotels close to the mosques to keep walking to a minimum, a gentler daily schedule, and any assistance you need at the airport and on transfers. If a wheelchair or extra help would make the trip easier, just tell us at the enquiry stage.

Women performing Umrah

Under current Saudi rules, women aged 18 and over can perform Umrah without a mahram. Younger travellers, and women who would prefer to travel with a mahram or as part of a women-friendly group, are welcome too, and we'll arrange whichever suits you.

Couples and newlyweds

Many couples, including newlyweds, choose September for a calmer, more private pilgrimage. A double room and a well-placed hotel make for a comfortable trip for two, and the quieter month gives you more space to focus on your worship together.

Groups

Travelling as a group of friends, a mosque community or an extended family? We arrange group Umrah in September with shared rooms to keep costs down, and coordinated flights and transfers so you move together from the UK and back.

What to pack and prepare for September Umrah

Because September is still warm, pack light, breathable clothing, and for men, your ihram garments. A refillable water bottle, comfortable sandals or shoes for the marble courtyards, sun protection and any regular medication are worth keeping to hand. Sort your MenACWY vaccination and certificate at least 10 days before you fly, check your passport is valid for at least six months from your travel date, and keep both digital and paper copies of your documents. A few prepared du'as and a simple daily plan go a long way in a calmer month around the two holy mosques.
